Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on July 17, 2025.
We at Yellow Wheels Art are working to make our site https://www.yellowwheelsart.ca accessible to people with disabilities.
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
Yellow Wheels Art is committed to making our website and all online services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We follow the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity laid out in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we’ve done
-
Semantic HTML – pages are built with proper headings, lists, labels and ARIA landmarks so screen-reader users can understand the structure.
-
Keyboard navigation – menus, forms and interactive widgets work using only the Tab, Shift + Tab and Enter keys.
-
Colour & contrast – text and icons meet a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio; no information is conveyed by colour alone.
-
Alt text – all photos, including balloon-setup galleries, have descriptive alternative text.
-
Responsive design – content reflows for zoom, mobile and tablet without loss of functionality.
-
Skip-to-content link – the first focusable element lets keyboard users bypass repeated navigation.
-
Form error handling – booking and contact forms include clear error messages and ARIA-live regions.
Ongoing improvements
We run quarterly audits using automated tools (WAVE, Axe) and manual testing with NVDA screen reader and keyboard-only navigation. Any issues found are logged, prioritised and fixed within 30 days.
Assistive-technology limitations
While we strive for full compliance, some third-party apps (e.g., embedded Instagram feed) are outside our direct control. If you experience difficulty with these elements, contact us and we’ll provide the information or service in an accessible format within 48 hours.
